August 2008: DISCOP and ABN partner to deliver ‘The Future of African Programme Barter Syndication’ a round table at DISCOP Africa ’09 - 25 to 27 February ‘09.
The African Broadcast Network
DISCOP Africa ’09 is designed to bring together programming, acquisitions, production, distribution and advertising executives to implement creative and innovative solutions to enhance the development of television content business in Africa.
“Reliable studies show that for the next five years, television advertising spending in Africa will be driven by double digit growth provided that African audiences can be exposed to significantly better programming.
All facts also point to a potentially very dynamic marketplace for African TV Stations, suppliers of programs and formats, and advertisers and their agencies in a context where there is still little on offer in terms of high-quality and entertaining television content.
This is why we have decided to launch DISCOP AFRICA, a new networking and business event designed to bring together highly-motivated programming, acquisitions, production, distribution and advertising executives ready to implement creative and innovative solutions that could enhance the development of television content business in Africa.
An estimated 200 participants are expected to take part in the premiere edition of DISCOP AFRICA which will take place from 25 to 27 February 2009 at the SOFITEL TERRANGA HOTEL in Dakar, Senegal”
