ABNs objective is to develop the growing commercial
opportunity within sub-Saharan Africas free-to-air television
markets outside of South Africa by:
- Aggregating terrestrial free-to-air television airtime,
through commercial joint-venture partnerships, into a series
of uniform programming belts in order to facilitate and
sustain a financially viable programme barter syndication
system.
- Significantly boosting television advertising revenues,
via the generation of credible audience research which will
verify the value of investments made by partner broadcasters
into ABNs barter-driven, airtime sales network.
- Facilitating, in parallel, the development of a public
service TV programming network that will attract international
sponsorship by disseminating development-inspiring knowledge
into millions of homes across sub-Saharan Africa.
- Generating through the African Public Broadcasting
Foundation - a dynamic broadcast infrastructure and skills
development initiative, aimed at improving the delivery
capacities and professionalism of the continents television
industry, encompassing both state-owned and private broadcasters.
