Companies

There are several well known multinational companies that
have successfully traded in Africa for many years and continue
to do so.
This, alongside sub-Saharan Africas improving political
climate, because of advances made by the African Union and
the New Economic Partnership for Africas Development
(www.nepad.org),
is resulting in the gradual increase of advertising spend
across the continent.
According to Peter Davies, area director of marketing communications
at McCann Erickson, the current total estimated advertising
spend within sub-Saharan Africas key markets, outside
of South Africa, is around US$1billion. With improved gross
domestic productivity, enhanced market research and a stable
trading environment, this figure will grow significantly in
the coming years.
